Hey, I’m Yusuf.

I'm a senior product designer and interface engineer living and working around the world by way of Johannesburg, South Africa.

It sounds trite but my work is an endlessly fun balancing act between trying to prototype tools as magical to us today as Midjourney might seem to a cave painter (sisyphean struggle as it may be), and building those tools in a way that captures attention and solves for distribution.

My studio practice involves designing and directing interactive projects — blending creative direction, technical development and strategy.

Previously I created Pinched.io, a search and sourcing tool built on top of Twitter’s social graph for finding uniquely talented people among combined networks (Pioneer S22). Worked as an early employee and front-end engineer at Thinkst Canary, an information security company that alerts your security team when your internal network has been breached. And studied CS and Informatics in college.
